7 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO NOT GO STIR CRAZY DURING QUARANTINE

The climate surrounding the Coronavirus has escalated quickly. One thing has led to another and unfortunately it seems like things are going to get worse before they get better. We, the public don't know very much because new information is being discovered every hour. However, one thing rings-true. Isolating yourself or remaining in low contact with others is the best way to stay safe and stop the virus from progressing to even more devastation.

I don't know much and I certainly can't tell you any new or helpful information about the coronavirus. What I can do is give you my tips to help you not go stir crazy in these grim times. Schools are closed, sports are canceled and every event seems to be postponed. Heck, even church ain't happening.

As a new mom, and having years of work-at-home experience. I gathered some activities you can do to keep yourself busy and entertained.

Don't worry, I won't be including any of the usual suspects such as: reading a book, playing games, watching Netflix or getting to that puzzle you had lying around the house. Although all of these work as well.

1. SPRING CLEAN

Do you have a junk drawer that needs organizing or a closet that needs decluttering? NOW IS THE TIME. Clean out everything! Clear out your garage, throw away the thousands of Tupperware lids you have that don't have their counterparts. This can keep you occupied for some time depending on your situation. I myself, need to go through my closet, so I'll be taking my own advice and doing a huge clear out.

2. TREAT YO-SELF .. AT HOME

Feeling a little blah? Treat yourself at home with a spa day. Do your nails, have a facial, eat some sweets, have a long, warm bath while reading a book or watching a movie. You deserve it, times are stressful. Order a few facial mask and get to relaxing.

3. TRY NEW RECIPES

Time can really restrain people from breaking out of a routine. Maybe you wanted to a new recipe for some time but because of a busy work and social schedule you haven't been able to break out of your norm. Go on Pinterest and find something new.

4. GO ON A WALK AND ENJOY A PICNIC

Only because you can't be around people does not mean you have to be stuck inside. Go outside and take in fresh air. Go take a walk to a nearby park and take your lunch for a sweet picnic with yourself or your healthy friends and family.

5. EXERCISE

In the words of Elle Woods "Exercise gives you endorphinsendorphins make you happy. Happy people don't shoot their husbands. They just don't" and I agree!
I know many people are avoiding gyms with good reason. Try and do some at home exercises. If you aren't sure what to do- download an app or try workout YouTube videos to give you some inspiration. You can also meditate and stretch in the morning. Even a short walk can help so much.

6. HOME PROJECTS

I know I'm not the only one who has a list of projects I want to do around the house. It is the perfect time to start.

7. TACKLE YOUR NEW YEAR GOALS

Perhaps in January you were hopeful and determined but a little over three months into the year.  I can understand why some want it to be over. To get back to your optimistic self. I suggest reviewing your goal list for 2020 and start making those goals a reality. Although it is a stressful, and devastating moment for much of the world. Our lives must progress. If anything look at this as a gift of time and reflection.
