Happy April!
Last week Chase and I had the opportunity to experience teatime at the DOME. The building might look familiar to you, remember this blog post HERE during Christmas time? We are lucky to live so close to the Dome, and as I pass by it on my daily trip to the market I can't help but stare every time at the beautiful façade. We had only seen the building from the outside, and it looked spectacular. From then we knew we wanted to enjoy a meal at the DOME before we left Edinburgh.
The building, located in New Town, previously served as the Commercial Bank of Scotland, but now you can enjoy afternoon tea, lunch, dinner, and even drinks. You can read more about the interesting history of the Dome HERE. The building is broken up into different rooms, which are used throughout the day during different meals. We had our afternoon tea served in the Georgian Tea Room, and it was delightful. The room features gorgeous architecture, design, and style. The selection of loose-leaf tea is pretty massive. My favorite part of the course were the desserts, but the scones were probably the best I've ever tasted. The staff were so sweet and attentive from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. Steven, the concierge, was there to give us a warm smile as he welcomed us into the beautiful foyer. Our family is coming to visit, and we would love to go back so they can experience the Dome as well.
