LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS- A DAY AT THE EDINBURGH ZOO

by - 1:22 PM

 Hey everyone,

I hope you're having a great week, getting ready for Easter Sunday (if you celebrate it). Chase and I have our family in town and I'm so happy about it. We took the day to go to the Edinburgh Zoo yesterday, which I had never been to. We caught the bus on Princes street and it didn't take any more than 30 minutes to get there.

The zoo grounds itself are really impressive. Once you reach the top (because it is pretty much all up hill) you have an amazing view of Edinburgh. However, before you can reach the top you can spend some time with the animals. By far, my favorite was the Panda, I mean, how many times do you get a chance to see a Panda? If you are looking to check them out I would recommend purchasing the tickets beforehand since it is a special exhibit and might sell out. It can be hit or miss since they spend much of their days sleeping. We were lucky enough to watch one of them eating (the other way they spend their time) and moving about. I also loved seeing the flamingos, no surprise there. The most impressive by far were the Tigers and Lions. I had never seen either animal be so active in a Zoo before.

Funny story- we were so caught up exploring the zoo that by the time we checked the time, the zoo had been closed for 30 minutes. We hadn't seen anyone in such a long time we were just roaming and had the zoo all to ourselves. We couldn't find anyone to let us out, so we ended up leaving an hour after closing. Terrible, but it was pretty neat being able to explore the Zoo all by ourselves without any crowds.

If you are visiting Edinburgh and have plenty of time here I would recommend to check out the Zoo since they have great grounds and interesting animals. If Zoos aren't your thing I would say skip it of course.

I hope you have an amazing day,

Joan

TOP: TOPSHOP - (BTW- I have been hunting for years for the perfect oversized denim top, but most of them really didn't suit me. When I found this one at Topshop I immediately tried it on and fell in love with the fit. It's an oversized top, so it isn't a normal top that I have to size up on to get the look I want. I definitely recommend it!)
