Do you know the song by Lana Del Rey 'Blue Velvet'? Well this dress is the epitome of what goes through my mind when I hear the song.

I have always loved velvet I actually have some pieces in my wardrobe that are coming out for the party season that have been in my collection for years and now that velvet is having its true and deserved moment I plan on soaking it up.

Velvet is a tricky fabric, its definitely not for every one which I understand. Especially when it comes to crushed velvet it can be hard to see it working for some people I think WHEN its not done correctly it can either look juvenile or extremely dated and not in the cool retro way, what I'm saying is it can look tacky. If you can't tell too much of a difference, crushed velvet is velvet that has its nap pointing in different directions in irregular patches sometimes creating a iridescent effect. (this dress isn't crushed velvet if that gives you a point of reference)

When I saw this dress on the SHEIN website I knew I wanted it for the holiday season, its the perfect party dress especially during the colder months. I absolutely love it- to be honest when I showed chase he didn't hesitate to ask if its a robe haha since its a wrap dress I could totally understand where he came up with that conclusion.
